About us

Lampada is the University of Hull’s delivery hub for digital solutions. Our focus is on turning academic research and ideas into digital products and services. Working closely with researchers and industry partners, we help incubate, accelerate, and commercialise university-owned intellectual property. We also support the creation of new spin-out companies and build long-term collaborations between academia and business. Our role is to bridge the gap between innovation and delivery helping ideas grow into scalable businesses.

Our Mission

To create viable digital spin-outs, build strong external partnerships, and unlock opportunities for university research.

We’re here to turn great research into real-world impact. By shaping viable digital spin-outs and building meaningful partnerships beyond the university, we connect brilliant ideas with the people, expertise, and opportunities that can bring them to life. Our focus is on building scalable ventures, fostering long-term collaborations, and driving both economic and social value through technology. It’s about opening doors; helping researchers navigate the path from discovery to delivery, and ensuring innovation makes a real difference.
