Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m a Lincolnshire lad working on the other side of the bridge. I guess I’ve always been a bit of a geek, from pulling apart my mum’s computer to see how it worked to teaching myself to program. I got my first software developer job when I was 17 and I have a passion for crafting quality software and improving my skills.
What were you doing before you joined the Lampada team?
I previously spent 16 years working in the aviation industry, developing flight briefing systems and mobile solutions used by crew on the flight deck.
What is your job role at Lampada?
My role is to develop software for our emergency services products, but I like to get involved in as much as I can inside and outside of normal responsibilities.
Tell us your favourite thing about working at Lampada…
It is a nice feeling using my powers for good. I like to think I play a small part in making our emergency services customer’s jobs safer and easier.
What is your proudest achievement?
Marrying my wife. I still don’t know how I achieved it but it’s too late for her to back out now!
What do you get up to out of work?
Well if you asked me that a while back I would have said I was obsessed with motorbikes, and would regularly do a 300 mile day trip in the Yorkshire Dales; but I think I’ve lost my bottle since getting married. I need a new hobby!
What do you prefer, tea or coffee?
Definitely coffee – strong and black! Life is one long heart palpitation!
What is your favourite movie?
I’m not really sure. At a push I would say The Usual Suspects. I like a film with a good twist.
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Ray Mears. Anyone who can live on twigs without starving to death deserves my respect.
Do you have a party trick??
You don’t want to know!!
